Hula

At Linuxworld, Hula was announced. Hula is a new open source collaboration server, based on source code of Novell's netmail product. Hula aims to build "a calendar and mail server that people love to use, instead of broadly trying to build a "groupware server" that managers want to deploy.".

Read also Nat Friedman's announcement.

Joe: Novell announced the Hula Project today. It's a badly needed open source mail and calendar server. A project like this had been seriously pondered over and over for ages at Ximian, but we never had a foundation to build on... we would have started from scratch, which was a seriously daunting prospect. Fortunately, Novell has code which is (at long last!) making it a reality. So this is very exciting for me and several other old monkeys. Nat has a lot more on it, including several goals for the project.
