OpenOffice 2.0

OpenOffice Version 2.0 is about to get released.
Although initially it had been announced that the final release would take place on October 13, it was postponed, because of important software issues. There is hope that the open-source solution will be released by the end of this month.

OpenOffice.org 2.0 will be the first stable version of the suite to be compatible with the new ODF (OpenDocument Format) standard, built on XML.

IDC, Jupiter and Gartner rated the solution with a 10% market share, while Forrester was even more optimistic, saying that the solution had a 15% market share."
