Jailbreak the 16GB iPod Touch

ZiPhone 2.5c does NOT allow 16GB (not sure about 32GB) iPod Touchs to jailbreak 1.1.4
BSD root: md0, major 2, minor 0 error? - This is the solution

How I upgraded my iPod Touch 16GB (1.1.3 OTB) to 1.1.4 Jailbreak (JB)

STEP 1: Downgrade to 1.1.1

Download firmware 1.1.1
Download autodown

STEP 2: Upgrade to 1.1.2
Dutch instructions

Oktoprep from installer
Download firmware 1.1.2
jailbreak 1.1.2

STEP 3: Upgrade to 1.1.3 or 1.1.4

STEP 4: Install BossTool and free disk space before doing anything else
Bosstool - free disk space by moving fonts (only do this and nothing more in bosstool)

1.) Make sure that Installer.app is updated to the latest version before applying the jailbreaks otherwise you get the script error and need todo FIX A: te fix.
2.) Install BossTool and free disk space by moving the fonts
If you do not do this you can not install apps.

FIX A: Installer script error
ssh into your iphone over wifi or use the iphone terminal.
password for root = alpine
cd /
cd Applications/
rm Installer.zip
wget http://repository.apptapp.com/packages/System/Installer.zip
rm -rf Installer.app
unzip Installer.zip
chmod +s Installer.app/Installer
chown -R root:wheel Installer.app
rm Installer.zip

FIX B: Mail not working, permission issue
for some reason mail did not work and it was a permission issue

FIX C: Installer downloads apps but does not install them
I had this issue because I installed an app before BossTool. I could not install BossTool or anything else. The result is that the partition is full and you can not install anything.
Solution: Free up space on your system partition by removing the app. that you installed
If installer does not allow you todo this for some reason, do it via a terminal.
cd /Applications
rm -rf app_you_installed.app

Moosy, I have a question for you.
What to buy, an iphone 16GB or a BlackBerry 8820.

Look, with the BB I can have the Groupwise calendar, contacts and mail sync, Is there any way to "kill" that features with the iphone? what is your opinion?

BB is proven at this point to work with GroupWise.

I tested some of the third party SyncML tools available today. They work with GroupWise mobile server but do not feel enterprise ready.

Did not see anything that could sync my addressbook.

Mail works ok via imap.

The iphone is a fun device and you can do a lot with it. Specially when the sdk ships. This also will give an overload of apps.

BB just works and does what it needs todo.
