Played with F-Spot, also one of the Mono projects Nat is working on.
F-Spot is an application designed to provide personal photo management to the GNOME desktop. F-Spot include import, export, printing and advanced sorting of digital images.
The cool thing about F-Spot is that it really takes advantages of the addition data that is captures when you make your digital picture. (EXIF Data). This is information about your camera, software version of the camera but most important: date and time of the picture.
This could be very diffrent than the filename.
F-Spot by default will sort on date and time of the EXIF data.
Make sure you set your data and time on your camera !!
