Which Linux Distro Is Most Popular?: "According to a recent survey of Focus on Linux visitors, Mandrake Linux appears to be the most widely used Linux distribution, followed by Suse Linux and Red Hat. 23.8% of the respondents indicated Mandrake as their Linux distro of choice, and 16.7% chose Suse Linux. Third place is tied with 9.5% by Red Hat, Fedora, and Debian. According to our survey, the most popular Linux application is Firefox, with 42.9% of the respondents using it, followed by OpenOffice, with 26.2%, and Thunderbird and Mozilla with 16.7% each. With 13 countries represented so far, most responses come from the United States, followed by Australia and the United Kingdom. For more information see here."
