Avant-window-navigator, cool eyecandy

Peppie: most of the Compiz Fusion screenshots on the web are containing a small dock at the bottom. I guess that everybody wants to know what it is and how to get it, because its looking so cool:

,
The dock is avant-window-navigator, also known as AWN, detailed info can be found at the launchpad site. I've installed version 2.0 from a repository ofcourse with the help of webpin.

Peppie: a websearch in webpin gave us the repository details for the Compiz Fusion icon.

Be aware that it's still experimental and usage is at your own risk.

Installing software the easy way

Peppie: I just discovered webpin, a web based search engine for repositories. Webpin will automatically register new repositories and use libzypp for dependency resolution, leaving you with very little to do, while the packages are downloaded and installed quickly and transparently.

This rocks.

BTW: as you can see Compiz Fusion is now available from the official repository: http://software.opensuse.org/download/X11:/XGL/openSUSE_10.2
